The challenge
In water treatment systems for swimming and wellness areas, continuous circulation and purification of the pool water is absolutely essential. The processes are subject to strict hygiene requirements and must function reliably on a permanent basis.
At the same time, there was a requirement to ensure ongoing operation with as few manual interventions by the operating personnel as possible. The existing spatial conditions and the system design required a flexible adaptation of the components. Standard solutions without automation or with purely manual operation could not meet these requirements, as they would have resulted in increased maintenance and operating effort.
The STASTO solution
STASTO developed, in coordination with the plant manufacturer, a pneumatically actuated valve solution for the automated control of water-bearing processes. Industrial valves with pneumatic actuators were used, which are suitable for continuous operation in water technology applications.
The valves were integrated into a customer-specific pneumatic control system and adapted to the spatial conditions of the plant. The selection of the design and actuator version was made with a focus on operational reliability, easy integration, and good maintenance accessibility.
Close collaboration with the plant manufacturer ensured that the solution could be seamlessly integrated into the overall system and that the required automation is reliably implemented.
The result
The use of the automated valve solution ensured stable and permanent operation of the water treatment plant. The processes run fully automatically and meet the hygienic requirements in daily operation.
The maintenance effort is limited to regular, plannable maintenance activities carried out by the plant operator. No additional effort is required from the operator during ongoing operation, while at the same time a high level of reliability and operational safety is ensured.
